As I type this I am wearing a cast, bound to crutches, and have no set place to call my "home". A little over a week ago I managed to break my fibula. Nothing TOO serious but it has put me out of my normal photo work for the next few weeks. It's also gifted me a lot of time to sit, reflect and think about how crazy everything in the past year has been for me. On this day just over a year ago I decided pick back up the camera and give freelance photography a real shot. At that time I was living in Gainesville, FL and have since moved to the Tampa Bay area where I have met and worked with some really really awesome people. I've learned an unmeasurable amount from every single working photographer I've assisted, as well as learned from every mistake made along the way. I've also managed to make some great connections in my industry, get a personal project published in a magazine, made new friends and found old friends, worked random jobs, got scammed on an apartment and became homeless, and most importantly grew the "F" up.
Without getting too sentimental I just want to say that this past year and every single moment has been a huge part in shaping in who I am right now and wouldn't change anything. Life will hit you VERY hard and will sometimes hit multiple times at once. It's important you absorb life's blows and let them make you stronger. Although I am very much looking forward to this year to come to an end, I anticipate what the next year and years to come will have in store for me as far as my career and personal life is concerned.
Being that it's (roughly) my photo career anniversary, I want to share with you some of my favorite photos taken since I started shooting again. Cheers!
